WHO WE ARE
Animal suffering is what brought a group of people together. A vaccination camp led to a movement which eventually gave birth to Pawco Animal Charitable Society where we decided to collectively work towards welfare of a community which has forever been neglected in Allahabad, the stray animals on the road.
In the beginning we did not realise the responsibility we were about to undertake. Our community grew, and we’ve managed to conduct vaccination drives, birth control programs, various treat on street and rescue cases and adoption drives.
We have one goal, to reduce animal suffering by addressing the root cause of the issue, lack of human compassion.
WHAT WE CARE FOR!
Animal Birth Control
Rescue and Treat
We have been running an on-spot treatment and rescue program for all manageable emergencies that helps in taking care of many more animals than we possibly can at our shelter.
Adoption Drive
Changing the image of the Desi Dog has been one of the corner stones of our work. We conduct regular adoption drives to get our shelter dogs adopted to loving homes.
Vaccination Camps
Pawco had started off with our vaccination drive program and we’ve been conducting the camps to try our best to curb a rabies outbreak in the city.
Educate
In the near future we aim to start conducting school outreach programs, teaching children about compassion and empathy towards animals.
Feed the Strays
Our team has been feeding stray animals (over 100 dogs) even before Pawco was formed. These strays are often not fed by the resident/shop owners of the area.
